180 years, that's the anniversary we've just
celebrated. It’s been an interesting year - Thank
you for your support from myself and everyone at
Morplan.
In terms of 2025, the year was very much set
by the October 2024 budget, which saw us
all, including Morplan, receive quite a difficult
challenge in terms of managing cost. I'm pleased
to say that from our side, we came through the
year in reasonable shape.
Looking at retailers, I've seen two different
approaches, one group of retailers has absolutely
embraced the challenge and utilised this time to
really get ahead, and another for whom this has
been a really challenging time and the focus has
very much been on keeping costs under control.
As we progress through 2026, we still have some
challenges ongoing and we'll be looking to
help you meet them by exploring ways to help
you make the most of your 2026 spend, such
as re-energising our ‘essentials range’, ideal for
retailers on a tight budget.
I look at this year with a degree of optimism, as
always, because we see consumers, especially
the youth, discovering for the first time the joys of
physical retail beyond their on-line experience of
brands. Along with older consumers realising that
there is actually still great excitement to be had, in
great experiential retail environments.
I really hope you'll join my optimism, making the
best of your retail proposition in 2026.

range:
“I was proud to work closely
with BHF for a special project
to promote a new scheme
where they were partnering
with hotels, encouraging
guests to help reduce textile
waste and collect quality
clothing through the hangers
in the hotel cupboards for their
#HangersforHearts scheme.
Where clothing donations
would help fund lifesaving
research.
We had introduced our Ocean
Waste hangers to the BHF
team as part of a new shop
concept, which focused on
sustainability throughout. The
team decided to continue this
sustainable approach within
this new scheme, which not
only suited the eco-friendly
‘re-use and recycle’ nature
of the project but would also
be in-keeping with the eco-
conscious expectations of the
hotel guests.
As the hangers needed to be
printed to include a certain
message, we had to print each
hanger 5 times, with two of the
prints on each side needing to

to ensure the text matched
perfectly.
Our print team within Morplan
executed this work perfectly,
both the team at BHF and the
hotel were very pleased with
the finished product which
matched their vision exactly

exciting to see it recognised at
the CRA”
Not only does this project
help reduce textile waste,
while ensuring vital clothing
donations to an amazing
charity, it also helps reduce
Ocean Waste through the very
hangers the clothes are hung
upon!
Morplan's Recycled Ocean
Plastic hanger range are made
from recycled products that
include: deep sea fishing
net - gillnet (nylon), mesh net
(polypropylene), net trawl (high
density polyethylene) - sourced
from the fishing vessels
themselves, using incentive
programmes and drop off
points near docks, and general
sea waste plastic (e.g. plastic
bottles). These plastics are
sliced up and turned into nylon
fibres, which are then turned
into hangers.
