At Morplan, history is at the heart of every piece we create. The story of
the Blue City range is rooted in the rich heritage of India and the country’s
historic cotton mills, monuments of the industrial era that have since been
abandoned and forgotten by time. Rather than allowing the valuable
materials within these structures to go to waste, we saw an opportunity to
preserve a part of their past while creating something for the future. For
our Blue City range, we responsibly reclaim aged hardwood from disused
Indian cotton mills. Weathered over generations, each piece of timber has
developed its own distinctive character and natural beauty.
Morplan combines this reclaimed wood with new, durable cast iron to
create distinctive and sustainable furniture for modern spaces. From
restaurants and boutique hotels to characterful pubs and cosy cafés, our
handcrafted pieces bring together timeless design, authentic materials
and robust construction.
Each item is more than just furniture, it carries a piece of history,
thoughtfully repurposed for contemporary use. By giving reclaimed
